Giulio Occhini, physicist, entered Olivetti Electronics in 1960 to develop his industrial career, filling – initially in General Electric, then in Honeywell and finally in Bull – managerial positions in different areas: from R&D to Product Planning, from Marketing to Office Automation.
Alongside his industrial activities, he has always maintained close relations with the academic and associational worlds.
In 1996, he was elected President of CEPSIS (Council of European Professional Informatics Societies), the body that federates European informatics companies, representing over 500,000 associated professionals, and also works towards improving European citizens’ ICT skills and knowledge.
He is currently the Managing Director of AICA and a Board Member of the European Foundation for ECDL (European Computer Driving License) and EUCIP (European Certification of Informatics Professionals) Certifications.
He has authored and co-authored numerous articles for specialised journals, along with several books.
