Maddalena Sorrentino

Lecturer in the Political Science Faculty of the University of Milan

Maddalena Sorrentino is a lecturer in the Political Science Faculty of the University of Milan, where she teaches the following courses: Informatics for Administration, eGovernment and organisational change and Business organisation. Her main research interests are organisational change in the public sector, e-government and organisational theory applied to complex contexts.
Between 1992 and 1995, she was a Visiting fellow in the framework of the International Cooperation Programmes promoted by Cattolica University (Milan), lecturing at the following universities: Birmingham (GB), University for National and World Economy in Sofia (Bulgaria), University of Warsaw (Poland) and University of Amsterdam).
She is part of the Political Science Faculty’s Informatics Commission and co-founder of the Scientific Council of the Inter-departmental Research Centre on “Innovation and Organisational Change in Administrations” (ICONA, http://icona.unimi.it/).
She is furthermore on the Editorial Board of the “Government Information Quarterly”, on the Advisory Board of “Information Systems and e-Business Management” and has authored over 150 publications. She was a co-founder of the European eGoverment Society (eGOVS) and has been a member of the Programme Committees of numerous international conferences, including: WCC (2008), HICSS-42 (2009), European Conference on Information Systems (2000-2005), International Conference in Information Systems (2003), E-Commerce Conference (2001-2005) and DEXA – eGOV (since 2002).
She has been a registered (Professional Register of Journalists in Lombardy) freelance journalist since 1989.
