Maria Sangiuliano has a Degree in Philosophy and Social Sciences, a Master in Training Methodology and a Master in Migration Policies. She is a Phd student (in cognitive, training and educational sciences) at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice with a research project on gender training.
She has been working since the last 10 years as a trainer, researcher and project manager in gender equality policies, coordinating EU partnerships. She is currently the coordinator of the Gender Equality Office of the Venice Province and she acts as gender and migration consultant for the Venice City. She has carried out surveys promoted by international feminist NGOs and local authorities on the intersections between racism and feminism and on women’s political representation. She has worked as researcher for the University Complutense Madrid in the VI Framework QUING Research Project, on the Italian case study on gender equality policies. She recently co edited with Ivana Padoan a book on gender and education (educare con differenza, Rosneberg & Sellier, 2008) and coauthored with Emanuela Lombardo an article on gender and emplyment policies in Italy (forhcoming on Women Studies International Forum). She is also an activist on feminist issues: she was among the promoters of Women's Agenda 21 and participating to the Women's Caucus in the UN conference on Sustainable Development in 2002; she is vice president of the Venice Women's Council, and board member of the international associations WinnetEurope and the European Centre for Women and Technologies.
